Coming by bike from Amsterdam:
It’s free, great for the environment and will take you around 30 minutes.
Het Twiske is located just 9 km North of Amsterdam. Catch the ferry behind central station in direction ‘Buiksloterweg’. Once across the water, the route to the festival will be marked with Welcome to the future signs.
You can park your bike on our massive bike parking lot right beside the festival entrance. And our friends from PWN will be refreshing you with free, chilled water at the finish line!
By public transport:
There will be a shuttle bus service from Amsterdam Sloterdijk station to the festival premises and back all day, leaving every 10 minutes. It’s a 30 minutes ride from the main entrance to the train station. You can buy shuttle bus tickets at the station and in advance: http://
Check www.ns.nl for train departure times from and to Amsterdam Sloterdijk. Please make sure to leave the festival on time to catch the last trains leaving Amsterdam at night.
By car:
We have ample of parking space, although the walk to the festival area will be a bit longer. The easiest way to get to Het Twiske is via the A10 “Ring West” Highway towards Haarlem/Zaanstad.
After the ‘Koen tunnel’, keep left and follow the signs for E22/A8 in direction Zaanstad/Purmerend/
Than take the 1st exit: 1-Oostzaan / Zaandam-zuid / Het Twiske. Keep left and always follow the sings in direction ‘Het Twiske’. Our friendly traffic hosts will be there to let things go by smoothly.
If you want to use your phone or GPS to get to the festival, use ‘Pikpotweg 1, 1511 Oostzaan’.
A GREENER FESTIVAL
The sheer beauty of the grounds at ‘t Twiske makes us fall in love with this area over and over again. This is why we try to give something back to the local environment. Today, Welcome to the Future is the only Dutch festival being awarded the certificate of excellence by the independent international organization ‘A Greener Festival Award’, which makes us one of the 10 greenest festivals in the world.
Water is free at our festival, available at our special water bars.
We serve organic food only.
We organize our own volunteer day in cooperation with 10.000HOURS.
We recycle our plastic.
We use bio diesel in our generators.
We keep our festival grounds clean with the help of our Green Teams.
We build our stages from recycled materials.
1/3rd of our visitors come to the festival emission-free (by bike).
FOOD & BEVERAGES
All of the food available at Welcome to the Future comes from a organic source.
At Welcome to the Future, you pay for your food and drinks with tokens/coins. These are available at the clearly signed cashier units located on the festival terrain. You can purchase your coins using cash, debit card (Maestro) and credit card (Visa / American Express / Master Card).
LOCKERS
We’ll provide plenty of lockers for everyone! These lockers can easily be shared: there’s room for at least 3 coats in one locker.
FUNKTION ONE
Welcome to the Future and Funktion One go back a long time together. Also this year the festival will be fully equipped with these purple beauties at every stage.
TOILETS
You’ll find them scattered on the festival terrain and you can make use of them for free.
INFO STAND
The info stand will help you out in case of questions and it also serves as Lost and Found. Free floorplans and timetables are also available here.
FIRST AID
There’s a first aid post on the premises. It is clearly marked: EHBO (the Dutch abbreviation for First Aid).
WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBILITY
We take all measures to make the terrain and all 7 stages accessible for wheelchairs. Our security and bar personnel will be there to assist you if help is needed. In case of questions, please contact us via info@welcometothefuture.nl
