Celebrating 12 of the world’s best dance floors.

Clubs are the beating heart of dance music. In Residence throws the spotlight on venues that keep their local scenes flourishing. Week-in, week-out, these clubs—and hundreds of others in cities across the globe—open their doors to play the music we love. They provide a platform to nurture upcoming talent and showcase revered international guests in an environment with great sound and dedicated staff. Without clubs, we have no club culture: the people, the sounds, the moments. Now is time to celebrate that.

After 15 years of participating in and supporting club culture, we’ve decided to take up residence at 12 of the world’s finest clubs. Throughout 2016, we’ll team up with one club every month to host four events that highlight what makes these places so special. The goal is to celebrate venues that maintain the highest standards of production, programming and artistry.

So far, the In Residence series has visited many of the world’s finest clubs, including Chicago’s smartbar, Concrete in Paris and Glasgow’s Sub Club. For the penultimate month of the year-long series, we’ll be headed to the sun soaked coastline of Brazil.

Warung Beach Club, opened in 2002 and celebrating its 15th anniversary next year, is situated just outside Brazil’s Atlantic forest. It’s built entirely from wood and straw with decor imported from Bali. Famous for its sunrise sets, the beach-facing venue offers clubbers views of the beach and neighbouring towns. Our month there will be our first Brazilian event since our RA X party at D-Edge in São Paulo back in 2011.
