Friday July 3rd, Prototype welcomes Los Angeles very own Droid Behavior to Lot 613. LA’s undisputed leading force in techno, their homegrown parties have ran here since 2002, taking them across the globe, with showcases in Amsterdam, Detroit, NYC and Berlin’s infamous Berghain.

With them, they bring one of the most exciting names to have emerged from the Berlin techno scene in recent years, Rodhad. Known for his unique, powerful fusion of dubtechno, techno and house and flawless mixing style. His DJing performances have earned him club shows at esteemed venues such as Concrete Paris, Fuse in Brussels, Rex in Paris, Beghain and the legendary and now defunct Trouw in Amsterdam. Firmly establishing himself in the Berlin techno circuit 2009, he started his Dystopian club night. Which in turn has sprouted a record label off shoot, clocking up releases with Rodhad himself, Recondite, Alex.Do and Distant Echoes. In 2012, Resident Advisor named him breakthrough artist of the year. He’s now a firm fixture on the international techno scene. July 3rd will be a rare, not to be missed chance to catch him in the raw and intimate settings of LA’s Lot 613.

DJ Hyperactive leaped up out of Chicago right at the peak of his career on a straight shot to SoCal. Taking on the daunting challenge of opening a record store, managing 4 Track Records and jumping on planes. Come 1998 it nearly tapped him out and set him into seclusion for nearly a ten year hiatus. He’s since returned with releases on Chris Liebing’s CLR imprint and closer to home, Droid Recordings. Recently featuring on a Boiler Room celebration of Chicago, his sets have taken him back on the road again, playing across North America and Europe.

Subversive is a DJ veteran of the LA techno community, currently focusing on remix and original output. Through his longtime participation in Droid Behavior and association with Raíz he helped form the VRV label, which has become a platform for both artists. Previous releases have appeared on Historia y Violencia and French label Construct Re-Form, where he collaborated with Voiski as Deception Plan. Subversive’s performances and productions flow between varying styles of techno, electro, and tribal, echoing remnants of Kalamazoo, Birmingham, and Detroit’s depth.
