Frædag with Oskar Offermann & Edward

Jaeger Oslo
, Grensen 9, 0159 Oslo

Oskar Offermann (WHITE, Mule Musiq) | Edward (Giegling, Die Orakel) | g-Ha & Olanskii | Celius | Oskar Pask | Ricky Late

G-Ha & Olanskii host German powerhouse Oskar Offermann and Giegling affiliate Edward in our basement for Frædag. Edward and Offerman have been on a similar career path since 2008, when the two Frankfurt DJs and producers released the first of many EPs featuring both artists on the sleeve for WHITE and it’s no coincidence that both DJ’s should find their way to Jæger on the same night. We welcome back Edward after last year’s Giegling showcase and with Offermann in the room, whose to suggest what could happen. And while g-Ha & Olanskii, Offermann and Edward, hold the floor in the basement, Celius, Oskar Pask and Ricky Late keep our backyard koselig.

Music is the direct access to the soul“, says Oskar Offermann, who made his first musical steps as a teenage drummer and beat producer in various genres in his hometown Frankfurt/Main. Shortly after the turn of the millennium he moved to Berlin. There, House Music had a strong impact on him. And then the direction was clear: In 2007 he founded the imprint White where he not only released his own material but also introduced artists like Edward or Moomin. Various EPs on the labels Aim, Thema, Mule-Musiq and Riverette followed. The albums “Do Pilots Still Dream Of Flying?“ (White, 2012) und “Le Grand To Do“ (Mule-Musiq, 2015) garnered him international recognition and so did the DJ sets he’s playing at clubs and festivals in Europe, Asia, Australia as well as North and South America.

Edward has risen to become one of Germany’s key figures in underground House music. Formally releasing music through WHITE, he is now one of Giegling’s key producers, thanks to a string of records that both embody and expand on the esteemed label’s Introspective sound. roots in krautrock are also strong, remixing Conny Plank (of Neu! and Cluster), and Harmonia and Brian Eno (‘Atmosphere’). His 2014 album for the label ‘Into A Better Future’ was released to critical acclaim, with Resident Advisor describing the record as ‘Startling evidence of an artist who can do whatever he wants’. This was followed by ‘Birds’ in 2015- an EP that further explored his unique, hazy sound. He has also released recent remixes for Apollonia, Sei A (Aus Music) and Mistakes Are OK (Hivern Discs). Edward is a regular at the best clubs the world over, playing regularly at Smart Bar, Panorama Bar, DC10, Nitsa, The Block, Robert Johnson, Dance Tunnel and many more.

Fridays at Jæger is about the music…

The late evening sun is slowly sinking on the horizon, and Celius is at the controls for the last portion of his set. The crowd swells with the music as the tempo bumps up to 120bpm, glasses glistening in the last rays of sun before the big star inevitably departs for the day and we give in to nocturnal urges. Oskar Pask and Ricky late take over where Celius left off and lay the bedrock for g-Ha and Olanskii to take us well into the early hours of the morning, and if were lucky, early enough for us to see the first rays of sun stretching over the opposite horizon – even our noble star, couldn’t stay away for very long. G-Ha & Olanskii bring with them a lifetime of experience, playing venues all across Europe and the journey can take us through everything from quaint Disco to mischievous Techno. Your weekend starts here.
