The Delegation of the European Union to China brings to you
EUPHORIA!

On December 23rd, EUPHORIA — a series of events across China featuring the incredible diversity of Europe’s electronic music — celebrates Christmas in Beijing. We believe that humanity benefits from ideas and culture having the freedom to move beyond borders, and this Holiday season, EUPHORIA brings some wall-toppling domestic and European acts to LANTERN, one of Beijing´s best underground clubs.

We open the doors of LANTERN extra early (8:00pm!) to squeeze in a pretty diverse line-up. Starting with KaiShanDao, an influential voice in the Chengdu music scene. Kristen Ng was born and raised in New Zealand, and moved to Chengdu in 2014, where she soon became the artistic director for NU Space, a venue that continues to bring futuristic music programming to the new music mecca of Chengdu. Her own project, KaiShanDao, is a one woman show that brings together live improvised electronics and experimentation utilizing ever-morphing samples from short wave radios, looped guitar scratches and riffs, tape-recorders, and whatever sound-waves are floating in space over an infectious Techno beat.

The programming also features local hero SHAO who brings a live preview of his upcoming long awaited album release on FakeMusicMedia. His much praised EP on Berlin´s legendary Tresor Records have set expectations high for his first album to come out in six years. He’ll be testing some of his new tracks to a home town audience along with his long time collaborator and visual artist Wang Meng from Shanghai. In a Christmas feast for the eyes and ears as we transform the familiar walls of Lantern into a surreal world of glitchy black and white landscapes.

Then we showcase EUPHORIA’s European side. We start one of the most buzzed about labels of recent years, DISCO HALAL. Their middle-eastern tinged dance tracks are the mastermind of label head MOSCOMAN. Romanian-Israeli by birth and Berliner by choice, MOSCOMAN’s ability to curate some of the most interesting releases in Europe in the last years made him widely celebrated by everybody from DJ MAG to BOILER ROOM. Expect multiple genre benders in his DJ set, fusing middle-eastern sounds on top of some seriously deep beats.

Also featured are married DJ duo, Local Suicide a.k.a. Vamparela and Brax Moody. This Greek-German couple has been making music since 2007 with R.A. describing them as a “merge of Munich’s hip hop clubs with the grime and attitude of Thessaloniki’s back-alley indie bars.” Their wide-ranging sound bring in a good dose of Berlin techno club influences and shakes them up through a charming party mixer. Both are also known as taste-makers in the European music scene, running one of the top ten influential music blogs in Germany, as well as organizing the infamous T.O.F.U. parties in Berlin. By day they hold such prestigious roles with Brax as the German label manager for U.K. label Ninja Tunes, and Vamperella a promoter for PR & Booking Agency Pull Proxy. With recent releases landing on compilations like Multi-Culti they are transitioning from massive background players to the forefront of the Berlin Party Scene.

12月23日，我们将把EUPHORIA带到北京，和你一起过圣诞！EUPHORIA，一个落地中国三座城市，展示电子乐多元化的系列演出活动，呈现来自欧盟不同国家电子音乐人的精彩现场。

我们相信，人类可以从自由跨越国界的思想和文化中受益。所以，在圣诞节来临之时，我们将在北京最好的电子场地之一 — 灯笼俱乐部，搭建起欧洲的舞池，让你在跳舞的同时，更多地了解欧洲。

这次，需要你们破例早点来到灯笼俱乐部，因为晚上8点演出就将开始。

来自新西兰常居成都的开山刀（Kristen Ng）将为EUPHORIA北京站开场。Kristen Ng 出生并生长于新西兰，2014年搬到成都，游走在成都跳舞俱乐部和现场音乐场景的边缘，现为NU Space的音乐总监。她使用电吉他，数字效果，合成器和无线电噪音，来创造一种反乌托邦式的techno。

在EUPHORIA北京的现场，你还可以听到SHAO即将在Fake Music Media发行的这张被期待已久的新专辑。SHAO在柏林Tresor公司发行唱片之后收获了很多的赞扬声，这也使得人们对他这六年来第一张全新专辑寄予了厚望。他将与长期合作的视觉艺术家王萌一起，在圣诞的氛围里探索展示一些新曲目，将我们熟悉的灯笼俱乐部呈现出超现实的黑白世界。

EUPHORIA还将为你带来欧洲的不同声音。Disco Halal，是近年来最受关注的厂牌之一。带着中东异域风情的曲调，是厂牌主脑MOSCOMAN的标签。出生在罗马尼亚的以色列人，常驻柏林，过去几年里Moscoman曾在欧洲策划发行过不少歌曲。期待在他这次DJ Set中听到一些不同寻常的声音。

Andrea Santoro，也就是DISTANT ECHOES，来自意大利明媚的南部，但他的音乐听起来则更像是芬兰的寒冬。他黑暗的感受力将techno和忧郁的旋律以及粗暴的低音鼓相结合，使得他的音乐很容易融入BERGHAIN club及北欧的黑暗童话里，这也是为什么他在Rødhåd的厂牌DYSTOPIAN找到了自己的精神归属。

来自希腊及德国的LOCAL SUICIDE是一对夫妻档DJ，也就是 Vamparela 和 Brax Moody。他们从2007年开始联手创作，R.A.形容他们是“慕尼黑嘻哈俱乐部与塞萨洛尼基后巷独立酒吧的态度结合体。”他们的音乐深受柏林club的影响，最近，他们被称为欧洲的“音乐品味制造者”，引领欧洲音乐的风潮，经营着德国十大有影响力的音乐博客之一，同时也是T.O.F.U.的组织者。Brax Moody在英国独立厂牌Ninja Tunes担任德国主理人，而Vamperella 则为Pull Proxy担任宣传。好的音乐品味，使他们很快在柏林的电子音乐圈找到了自己的位置，随着近期的一些发行，他们正逐步从多重背景音乐人转向柏林party的引导者。
